The book of Philippians has blessed me much. As a young Christian, three verses including Philippians 4:13 have been very useful to me in fighting against sins. These verses are:
Philippians 1:6 - He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Jesus already saved us and entered into our lives. He will complete His work of changing us so that we can overcome all situations and be like Him. It's a life-long process. But it is possible. The Bible promises so.
Philippians 2:13 - It is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.
It is difficult to overcome sin. But God works in us so that we are both able and wanting to overcome.
Philippians 4:13 - I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
We can do it. Or more correctly, God can do it for us. Let's trust in Him.
